Okt 5, 2007
After a lot of searching for a real rear wheel, V8 powered American car, at Oktober 5th, 2007 I finally found another Camaro muscle car on Marktplaats.nl. The car was in a pretty doubtable condition, Before I went down to check it out, I searched the web to find more background info..

After a lot of hours Googling, searching on forums, meeting pages and made a few phone calls. So I found more info about the previous owners and the story behind this beater Camaro.
The car was first bought on June 30th,1976 by an older couple in Holland, and had this car for about 30 years (with the last ten she just stood still in front of there house).
They sold the car on August 8th 2005 to Tamara, They did a few bodywork repairs (new floor and frond windshield), also the preformed an engine swap, with a ‘76 350Ci LM1 Corvette engine (the same as the original block in the Camaro) and driven it for a while, Then her boyfriend Alex took the car, painted it math black, placed a sperdiff and a new rear axle on it and used it for a few “BurnOut-team Kobus” shows. They putted it out for sale after a while.

There was a lot more info, so now I knew what to expect. The price was suitable for this beater, so at Oktober 18th, 2007 I went to Blazerparts Numansdorp to check it out.
It took me 10euro and 3hours by bus to get there, but it was worth it. First talked, checked everything and put the car on the car lift to see the rest. Took it for a spin and made a notes haha. The interior smelled awful because of the burned rubber fumes sticking on the leather, there was a complete botanic garden in my trunk cause of the small rusty holes in my inner rear wheel arches, it seemed to be to have two parcel shelves, The dashboard cabinet was just big enough to fit 5 small cd cases in it and to use the horn I need to short-circuit with a loose wire. But at the end of the day and a few hours of checking, testing and negotiations I bought the beater Camaro, I got a great deal for it.

At Okt 21, 2007 I went to pick her up. Because I had a few problems getting insured hahahaa. Of 33 company’s there where only 3 that didn’t gave an error “too much risk to insure” in the meantime I build the website. The trip back wasn’t that easy, Mainly because the engine wasn’t running healthy, and the speedometer wasn’t giving me the correct speed, Also after a little while my radiator started leaking again, because the cracks where all over the upper side of the radiator, it only leaked when the engine was hot. Stopped ones to fill with water. When I finally came home a few friends helped me clean the interior, and I started working on the engine. Bought some secondhand edelbrock parts and took half the engine apart, to get it good again!
Nov 7, 2007 thrown half of the interior out and also fixed a few things, made a new parcel shelve and center console. Changed a lot on the engine and found some nice parts.
Nov 24, 2007 Finaly finished the Shifter, Shifter rods, brackets and transmission modifications. And took it for a spin, met Danny at the gas station. Seems to be a great guy who knows his way around cars, so we made an appointment to work on Rauzer later on. A few days later talked a few times to make the Camaro a promo car for the Vic (the old Fraggles) This due to the upcoming grand opening of the VIC (Sadly there never been any grand opening, stickers for on the car, or something else).
Dec 17, 2007 Did a few bodywork repairs, some friends helped and actually we had more of a party than serious working. But at the end of the day Police came by and wanted to know what I did the night before with the Camaro hahaha
Jan 21, 2008 Hooked up a sweet alarm system and wireless central lock door system, shaved my doors, so you wont see my doorlocks anymore! Also I started working on my meshed up grill, filled up all the holes cracks and dents put two layers of plastic primer on and finished it with five layers of Rallye black. Fixed the crome frame, it was bended dented and wrinkled so I hammered it back to shape
March 28, 2008 I’ve been interviewed for the PZC! Yeah! And thanks to everybody for all the great reactions!!
